Why Postpartum care?
The postpartum period is often an intense and challenging time for both new and experienced parents. It's a time of love, joy, adjustment, growth, sacrifice, and changes in your family dynamic. All families need support during this important transition and many parents find they have little to no help. A postpartum doula is a trained professional experienced with the transition of bringing one or more newborns home and supporting the family and their needs. Doulas provide physical, emotional, and educational support to new parents, as well as help provide care for newborns.
What difference does it make?
It’s so important to allow your postpartum body time to recover, providing it with quality nourishment and rest. It’s a time to honor your body and all it has done to grow a new life and also to slow down so you can care and connect with your new baby. Inviting others to help care for you so you can care for your baby is the best way to spend your fourth trimester.
What does a postpartum doula do?
A Postpartum Doula comes into your home to help with newborn care instruction, breastfeeding support, light housekeeping, help with laundry, meal or snack preparation, and anything else to help the postpartum period go smoothly so that you can enjoy your new addition as much as possible. The care I provide is individualized and personal to each family and their needs.
